| Women In Need - Sri Lanka is a non-governmental organisation that specialises in women empowerment, women and child abuse prevention and education. Being an organisation that deals with topics that are not widely discussed, exposure and presentation was of great importance to WINSL. Their orginal website hosted at winsl.net, had a sombre and battered theme that is common to all websites dealing with abuse related topics. However, people at WINSL had a different and somewhat revolutionary idea; their new website should portray the out come of what they do, not the circumstances under which they work. The proposed new design for winsl.org was based on this new concept and carried a vibrant pink theme. The website details the activities that are carried out by the organisation and their island-wide network of centers, an event calendar and a news blog which publishes the latest developments at corporate level. The winsl.org website is not merely a corporate face for the organisation, it also contains an extensive document management system that allows the employees to store, categorise and share the documents they produce. WINSL, now has a new outlook on its online presence thanks to the revolutionary new ideas from its own employees and the expertise of Kulendra.Net. We hope that our involvement, even at a very small level, helped them to take the marvellous job that they are doing already to the next level. |
